Makes me think ... of Arafa,
young palestinian medic killed in January 2009
while trying to save his people.
Hope his widow and his kids are managing,
without his loving presence, without him.
Hope they are not left alone as winter's coming again on Gaza.
Gaza, like a sad Alcatraz in the hands of crazy wardens.
Lost in the same currents, bad water and weather

La Vita è Bella

JERUSALEM — Israel on Tuesday razed five Palestinian houses in occupied east Jerusalem, defying international calls to halt the demolitions in the disputed city, the municipality said. (Source : AFP - 10/27/2009)

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Wednesday blasted Israel's plans to demolish Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem as a violation of its international obligations and "unhelpful" to Middle East peace efforts. "Clearly this kind of activity is unhelpful and not in keeping with the obligations entered into under the 'road map'," Clinton said, referring to the long-stalled peace plan.

ICAHD estimates that 24,145 houses have been demolished in the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza since 1967. Please click on the appropriate language to see our latest analysis of demolished homes

ETHNIC CLEANSING OF PALESTINE
IS A CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY.
<<>

And since that ethnic cleansing was successfully implemented in almost 80% of Palestine without any global or regional repercussions - the ethnic cleansing policy continues ever since 1967 in the remaining 20% of the country. Creating a Jewish state in historical Palestine cleansed of Palestinians is still the ideolgoical infrastructure on which the state of Israel is based. How to achieve this goal is a divisive issue between Left Zionists - hoping to negotiate a settlement that would leave a small number of Palestinains in a greater Israel and the Right Zionsts willing to implement a more direct cleasning policy from the same area even today.
The book uses the accepted scholarly definition of Ethnic Cleansing to show its academic as well legal applicability to the case of Palestine and argues that since in the eyes of the world - including the State Department and the UN - ethnic cleansing is a crime against humanity, this how we should view the Israeli actions in the past and ISrael’s policies in the present.>>

Le patrimoine mondial nous appartient à tous

The world heritage belongs to all of us.

What's the common point between the Great Barrier Reef, Malpelo in Columbia or Halong Bay ... to make a long story short, the beauties Nature gave us, and old stones, ordered here and there to form a pyramid, some sanctuary, or place to pray...

You may note them, and shout big cries if they are in danger. You may protect them. Like songs. Like Images. Oh, yeah, by the way, I stole the image from a teachers's site. It's material. Info. No harm meant, sorry...

Yes. How beautiful and nice all this, is.

(scroll down for english, it's in french and english)

http://whc.unesco.org/fr/list

The World Heritage List includes 890 properties forming part of the cultural and natural heritage which the World Heritage Committee considers as having outstanding universal value. These include 689 cultural , 176 natural and 25 mixed properties. 186 States Parties have ratified the World Heritage Convention

http://whc.unesco.org/en/list

It's a good score. Even if it's a little bit less than the Geneva Conventions. (the number of State Parties is 194, "which make the Geneva Conventions universaly applicable")

"The World Heritage is reminder of the Past that we may enjoy in the present and that we'll transmit to the generations to come" (extract from the text of the World Heritage Convention of 1972)

Waw. It's crazy

I'm looking at this image of palestinian kids, and wonder. What is a child ?

Reminder of the past (eyes of a grandad, who knows), smile to enjoy in the present ...

I think that children are our WORLD HERITAGE and that they belong to all of us, above their parents, the society where these parents live, the country, governement or continent.

So, why don't we protect this beautiful World Heritage ?

Why don't we protect the palestinian children ?

Me, I call these beautiful little faces wonder of the world. And you know what ? They are even more fragile than any precious wonder, their heart is as tiny as a trembling bird.
