Zones of Interest ...

As I’m growing tired to explain things, let’s try to explain the concept of “Zones of Interest” to people who still think that if they read Mainstream US - Mainstream UE - or Mainstream Russia (or Iran’s voice : Press TV - or Arabia’s voice Al Jeez this or that) they know better than those who are in middle of the place supposed to explode next ...

And the Oil and Gasfields ... the need to use Kurds to explode, not only Iraq and Syria, on the juicy side, but Turkey... too.
And it's more than a "collateral" damage ...

PS : After the Big Partition Plan, Ottoman's Empire's dismantling, Mosul and Kerkük were supposed to belong to Turkey, because of its very important turkish (turkmen) population, but Britain (BP is an old "concept") wanted to keep the place for its "Protectorate" and so this juicy place came in the basket of the British Protectorate upon Iraq and Palestine (the "partition plan of 1947 sequel of 1917 little schemes came after...) while the French Mandate for Syria and the Lebanon took some other items.

After decades of wars, fighting alone against : France, Great-Britain (and allies, like NZ, Australia) Russia and pawns, USA, and all the usual pawns and laquais, who played the Uncle Lawrence of Arabia or Sam's plans... Turkey, and Turks, exhausted, accepted, in 1926, to let go of this place...
They had to accept, too, the idea of bathing in greek's waters (as Britain : Cyprus way to drive cars is a direct legacy of Her Majesty... - and France, insured that the Islands just next door, were given to Greece...

Like a ransom price, the price to be left alone, and in peace. After.
